Season 2024

Newsletter Update

Hello everyone,

As much as I love sharing our ‘Weekly Wraps’, it’s time for a short hiatus. Let’s be honest, we’re all probably more eager to unwrap some holiday surprises in the coming days rather than read weekly updates! So, consider this a brief interlude in our regular schedule.

Before we take this break, I’m thrilled to share some fantastic updates with you.

By now, I hope you’ve all seen the exciting sponsor announcements, especially our very first Platinum Sponsor – SEB Shooting Products Australia. A heartfelt thank you to Jason, Jacqui, and Sebastian for their incredible support. Their generosity is truly remarkable. And it’s not just about the top-notch rests and bipods – their online shop offers a wide array of products that cater to all your shooting needs. I encourage you to explore their offerings at: https://sebshootingproducts.com.au/

OZFCLASS

The Australian Points Series has achieved a new milestone – we are now officially a featured category on the premier F-Class shooting platform, OZFclass.com. This recognition is a significant step for us, highlighting our growing presence and impact in the F-Class shooting world.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Graham for his incredible support of our series. His commitment to enhancing the visibility of the Australian Points Series on his website is invaluable. This collaboration not only elevates our profile but also connects us more closely with the broader F-Class community.

As we continue to grow and evolve, partnerships like this are crucial in bringing our passionate community together and showcasing the talent and dedication of our shooters.

FINALE I and Special News

Many of you are aware that we were considering aligning FINALE I with the National Teams Event in Canberra. The idea was to minimize travel for participants, especially since many State team members were also potential contenders for FINALE I. However, we realized that persisting with this plan could result in an intensive shooting schedule and a substantial need for reloaded components, which might not be feasible for everyone. Additionally, holding FINALE I concurrently with these events would have meant excluding points from the ACT Kings and possibly the Nationals, making this approach impractical.

Considering these, we contacted the NSW Rifle Association (NSWRA) with a proposal to host the APS FINALE the weekend before the NSWRA Kings Series in January. It brings me immense joy to announce that the NSWRA has not only agreed to host and sponsor APS FINALE I but has also shown a willingness to extend this partnership for the next three years. This means that FINALE I, II, and III are all set to be held in early January at what is undoubtedly the most picturesque Rifle Range in the world.

A special thanks to Adrian Siebel and the NSWRA council for their incredible support in hosting FINALE I and their openness to discussing future events. This collaboration marks a significant step forward for our series and offers an exciting prospect for all our participants.

Marquee Sponsorship:

Exciting news for the Australian Points Series community! Recently, we were approached by McIntyre Irrigation, who have generously offered a substantial cash donation to fund a marquee for our competition. This marquee will be an integral part of the “recording lane,” a designated area where matches will be recorded with video and audio for broadcast. This includes all finals and intriguing matchups, aiming to elevate the visibility and awareness of our event and the sport itself.

For those unfamiliar, McIntyre Irrigation is owned by Frog and Missy Lowe. Describing their contribution and essence is a challenge that goes beyond words. Frog and Mia have consistently delivered remarkable performances of marksmanship, while Missy’s enthusiasm and kindness light up the atmosphere. Their unwavering support and readiness to help encapsulate the very best of what the F-Class community represents. They embody the ideals we all aspire to – excellence, generosity, and a profound impact on the lives they touch.

On behalf of everyone at the APS, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Lowes. Your support is not just a contribution; it’s an inspiration that encourages us all to strive for greatness, both on and off the range.
